This teaching helps us understand how the Messiah fulfilled the Abrahamic, Mosaic and the New Covenants. Indeed He came not to abolish the Law but to free us of the curse that follows those who disobey it. He then enabled us to obey the Law with hearts of love and the power of the Holy Spirit so that we may also enter into the blessings that follow those who keep the Law of God. 

 

Church history tends to swing to extremees - at one time it was salvation by works alone, later it became salvation by grace alone. But let us not allow either works or grace to become the new replacement for the Ark of the Covenant in which Israel placed its trust. They lived as they pleased, did things contrary to God's ways and all the time claimed supernatural protection from enemies because the 'Ark' was in their midst covering them! Indeed the Ark remained in their midst, but the glory of God departed. 

 

In this teaching, as we come a step further in understanding the three covenants, let us examine our lives for any Arks that remain though the glory of God has departed. We have to answer a question one day or the other - did we fulfill our life's purpose? Messiah did! He fulfilled every dot and dash concerning Him and His life when He said 'It is finished!' May this also be our tribute to our King when we breathe our last! Blessings.
